How will the right answer fit in terms of support and conclusion?

Only the right answer will match your highlighted conclusion in the passage.

Highlight the main conclusion in the passage, if there is one:

learning about other cultures probably will not satisfy their longing

Columnist: [BACKGROUND]. [BACKGROUND]. However, [CONCLUSION], for [SUPPORT].

Map the wording of the answers to the wording of the passage:

(A) It is common…

Stop. The conclusion doesn’t say anything about how frequently something happens.

(B) The longing…leads people to use the internet…

That was background, before the author’s argument started at “However”.

(C) …only secondarily for…

This is misquoting the passage, and that was support for the author’s prediction. Just because it’s at the end don’t make it the conclusion.

(D) …probably will not provide…

This matches everything in the conclusion without bringing in anything new.

(E) …they tend to engage in behavior…

Behavioral tendencies didn’t show up in the conclusion.

(D) is the correct answer.
