How will the right answer fit in terms of support and conclusion?

Only the right answer will add support for the conclusion, which will be in the “Application” part of the passage.

Highlight the main conclusion in the passage, if there is one:

This return was unethical

Principle: [SUPPORT].

Application: [SUPPORT]. [CONCLUSION].

Map the wording of the answers to the wording of the passage:

(A) …James used it extensively…

This doesn’t map well to the passage, which says the return has to be after all the person’s “intended” use. This leaves us in the dark about that part.

(B) …to avoid having to hire a professional videographer…

This is warmer. This part maps to the rule about the “intended” use. It would be nice if this said “and for no other reason” since the passage says “all the use”, but we can’t eliminate this one yet in any case.

(C) …returned it after he had dropped it…

Ooh, James is not going to pass character and fitness haha. This is clearly a totally different issue from the “intended” use thing though, so this doesn’t support the conclusion.

(D) …after he discovered the same model was on sale at another store…

This is also focused on a totally different issue than James’ getting all his “intended” use out of the camera.

(E) …he thought a different one might work better…

You gotta love it when you get to eliminate all the wrong answers for the same reason. This one also gives a different reason for the return than the “principle” did, so it doesn’t map to the passage or support the conclusion.

(B) is the correct answer.
